4 Humorous Side-Effects of the PRESENT Artificial Intelligence Methods
Here are some of the cases where the help provided by diverse AI methodologies wasn’t helpful to humans:-
1. An Awful Tuna Pie
Janelle Shane, an optics research scientist fed about 30,000 cookbook recipes to a computer to know whether a computer could create its own unique dish with a different flavor. However, it turned out to be a disaster! The computer created a recipe called “Beothurtreed Tuna Pie.” It included apple mayonnaise, cup lumps, and heavy water. Another one was “Tart Cover Shrimp Butter Wol”.
This means that a computer is not yet aware or knowledgeable of the tastes and preferences of the human body, and especially the tongue.
2. Everyone gets a dollhouse
In Dallas, a six-year-old kid ordered a dollhouse for herself on software like Google Home or Amazon Alexa. But surprisingly; many users (including her) got dollhouses that they never ordered.
This means that computers supporting AI can also malfunction, and make mistakes that can lead to a heavy loss, to both the company and the users.
3. That’s not the Soccer Ball
Facial recognition can also falter at times. The Scottish soccer team Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC bypassed facial recognition in favor of ball recognition using AI-operated ball-tracking cameras that followed the ball automatically and record the game. Due to recognition failures, the fans watching from home missed some of the goals because these cameras mistook the referee’s bald head for the soccer ball. This implies that AI has still a long way to go in terms of Facial recognition technology.
4. It’s Alexa’s Party!
One night in Hamburg, Germany, one Amazon Alexa took the evening’s entertainment into its own (hands?). This particular Alexa started playing music at such exceedingly high volume at around 2 a.m. that neighbors were forced to dial up the police. The police arrived and knocked, but nobody was home, except the Alexa (of course). They broke in and plugged it off. They left a new lock on the door so that the owner knows about it. He had to head to the police station to pay for his new key, along with the locksmith charges.
This shows that the voice assistants need to be enhanced and improved technologically to prevent these types of cases.
